You may want to opt for a local company that makes their own furniture and that will not only make it but install it for you also. Or if you are wanting to save a bit of money, you may install the bathroom yourself once the items have been delivered.

Awkward spaces are usually not a problem for bespoke bathroom fitters and because they will design the room around your measurements and so everything should fit perfectly. Check how much guarantee you have not only on the fixtures and suite but also on their workmanship.

Choosing a Suitable Tile Trim for your Bathroom

Posted on May 30, 2018 at 6:19 pm

Tile trim is a very individual thing that will depend on a lot of things. It is widely accepted that it is needed though because it serves to make the tiles look finished. Tile trim sits around the edges to neaten everything up and make rough-edged tiles look neater, so they will really help your tiling project along.

Make sure that any tile trim you are considering is actually compatible with the tiles you have. It will need to fit, and be the right length, and be a suitable shape. Tile trim comes in rounded, square and other various shapes, so the one you pick needs to be right for the space you have.

If you are going to use tile trim in your bathroom, look at the rest of the room to choose the finish. Go for something that is a contrast, or match it up with your tiles. Just be aware that it needs to be a good match, or it will look unusual.

Are Downstairs Bathrooms an Option?

Posted on March 26, 2018 at 9:46 pm

A downstairs bathroom might be an option for your home, depending on the layout. Some older, terraced houses might have a bathroom in an extension built onto the back, especially if there used to be an outdoor bathroom. This can sometimes work better with the design of your home, meaning that you can use the space for other things, like an extra bedroom or a study.

Of course, it might be less convenient to have a bathroom downstairs. If the house is long and thing, you might have to go through rooms like a kitchen to get to the bathroom, which isn’t especially convenient. If the bathroom is also housed in an extension, it’s possible that it might be more prone to damp.

It is essentially down to personal preference. The main bonus is the extra space upstairs, and if you buy a home with a downstairs bathroom, you might get it at a lower price.

Is Wooden Flooring Suitable for a Bathroom?

Posted on December 25, 2017 at 7:41 am

Wooden flooring looks great. There are lots of design pros behind having it installed. However, you might want to think about the practicalities as well – it’s not always going to be the best option in every situation.

Bathrooms are one of the places where wood flooring should be carefully considered. Do you really want to opt for wood? Or would you prefer to go for engineered wood? This will look very similar because it is a layer of real wood, but it has other layers that help to keep it more stable. It’s a more practical option for bathrooms because of the moisture and the humidity that is in this particular part of the house. It will hold its appearance for longer and won’t be affected by the conditions.

Choose an engineered wood flooring that is the right colour and finish for you. This is the most important part, and usually, people will not even guess that it isn’t real wood.

Tiling a Bathroom – the Advantages

Posted on November 23, 2017 at 10:43 am

Tiling is the best way to decorate a bathroom, making it look good yet making it practical as well. The majority of homeowners and landlords agree and choose to have tiles in their own properties.

Tiles are a good way of making a bathroom look stunning. Choose a colour that is going to complement the colour scheme of the room, and then choose a tile trim to round off the corners and make them look even more premium. There are many metallic and coloured finishes in any tile trim range, so you can match it up to other features within the room.

It is also practical to tile a bathroom, a room that has lots of inherent damp and moisture. Wallpaper and painted plasterboard can increase the likelihood of damp occurring, whereas tiles last better in a moist, humid environment. They are easy to look after and can simply be wiped clean.
